Which lock do you need?
After a house move in Aigburth or Mossley Hill, or when a tenant has moved out, it is sensible to change the locks. We fit BS3621 mortice locks and anti-snap cylinders during the visit, so old copies of the keys stop working.
uPVC and composite doors use a euro cylinder. We fit anti-snap cylinders, which resist the snapping attack burglars use on cheap cylinders. Timber front doors usually have a nightlatch and a mortice deadlock; for insurance that deadlock should be BS3621.
Most lock changes in Liverpool take 30 to 45 minutes. Common reasons: moving into a new home, lost or stolen keys, a tenant moving out, or a lock that has become stiff and worn.

Lock change in Liverpool: common questions
How much is a lock change in Liverpool?
From £88 supplied and fitted for a standard euro cylinder. BS3621 mortice deadlocks start from £109. The price the engineer confirms includes the lock and the fitting.
Do I need anti-snap locks?
On a uPVC or composite door, we recommend them. Snapping is the most common way in through those doors, and anti-snap cylinders are built to resist it.
Do you charge a callout fee?
No callout fee when you go ahead with the job. If you decide not to go ahead after the engineer has arrived, a £49 assessment fee covers the visit. Otherwise you pay for the job itself in Liverpool, at the price the engineer confirms with you before starting.
Can you change locks for a landlord or letting agent?
Yes. Between tenants is one of the most common jobs we do. We can fit cylinders keyed alike so one key opens the front and back doors.
How quickly can someone get to me?
An engineer is typically with you in 15 to 20 minutes, and within 30 minutes at most. We give you a time on the phone based on where the nearest engineer is right now.
Which areas around Liverpool do you cover?
Every L postcode on the mainland, plus nearby towns such as Birkenhead, Widnes, St Helens, Southport, Toxteth, Anfield. If you are not sure, call and we will tell you straight away which engineer can reach you.
Can you get me into a flat in a converted Georgian house?
Yes. Our engineers work on flat doors, shared front doors and communal entrances in converted townhouses and terraces. For a shared door we will check you live there, and replacing a communal lock usually needs the agreement of the landlord or the other occupants.
Do you cover Crosby, Kirkby and Huyton as well as the city?
Yes. The same 24-hour line covers the whole L postcode area, including Bootle, Crosby, Maghull, Kirkby, Huyton, Prescot, Formby and Ormskirk. Tell us your street and postcode on the call and we will say when to expect the engineer.
