A locksmith in Torquay who confirms the price before starting
Our Torquay engineers repair, re-key and replace locks on Victorian villas in Wellswood and Torre, flats in converted seafront hotels and terraced cottages in Brixham.
Most calls we take in Torquay are one of three things: someone locked out, a lock that has stopped working, or a household that wants the locks changed after lost keys or a move. You describe the door and the lock, we give you the price, and the nearest engineer drives to you.
Our engineers carry the common cylinder sizes, nightlatches, mortice locks and uPVC gearboxes, so most jobs are finished in one visit.

Locksmith in Torquay: common questions
What does a locksmith in Torquay cost?
Lockouts start from £39, lock changes from £88 and uPVC gearbox replacements from £89, plus VAT where applicable. You get a free quote on the phone, and the engineer confirms the price before starting.
What do you work on?
Front and back doors on homes and small businesses: lockouts, lock changes, lock repairs, uPVC and composite doors, window locks and repairs after a break-in. We do not work on cars or safes.
Do you charge a callout fee?
No callout fee when you go ahead with the job. If you decide not to go ahead after the engineer has arrived, a £49 assessment fee covers the visit. Otherwise you pay for the job itself in Torquay, at the price the engineer confirms with you before starting.
Can you fit insurance-approved locks?
Yes. BS3621 mortice deadlocks for timber doors and anti-snap euro cylinders for uPVC and composite doors. Tell us what your policy asks for and the engineer brings the right lock.
Which areas around Torquay do you cover?
Every TQ postcode on the mainland, plus nearby towns such as Newton Abbot, Paignton, Exeter, Teignmouth, Babbacombe, St Marychurch. If you are not sure, call and we will tell you straight away which engineer can reach you.
How do I pay?
When the job is finished. Card, cash or bank transfer, and you get a written receipt you can use for an insurance claim.
Do you cover Paignton, Brixham, Totnes and Newton Abbot as well as Torquay?
Yes. The same 24-hour line covers the whole TQ postcode area, including Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Buckfastleigh, Bovey Tracey and Teignmouth.
Does sea air wear out locks on seafront flats and holiday lets?
It can. Salt in the air corrodes exposed steel and brass over time, which can leave cylinders stiff and handles sticking. The engineer will look at what is worn, explain the options and confirm the price before starting.
